Meet Ali Zafar: He's hot, married & won't live in Mumbai

The Tere Bin Laden newbie can sing, dance and make you laugh.
PS: He's hot, married and won't leave Dubai for Mumbai

Ali Zafar has churned out pop albums, and today he's making his B-Town debut in Pooja Shetty Deora's Tere Bin Laden.

He has managed to impress most people who have seen the film. Karan Johar has been raving about him ever since he watched it. Not surpringly, Ali has already been swamped with offers.

Even though it's his debut on the big screen, Ali (31) has already done theatre and films. He explains, "I have had an inclination towards acting for a long time. My music videos have always had a story shot like a mini film. When Tere Bin Laden came to me, I was super excited about the subject."

Going by his good looks, a debut in a romantic comedy would have been more apt, but he says he didn't want to follow the tried and tested route.

"I was waiting for something really different than the expected and this film came at the right time. Everyone who's seen it has loved it and that's encouraging." Ali lives in Lahore, has a second home in Dubai, and no plans to move to Mumbai to further his career. "Actors are like vagabonds, so I will travel wherever work takes me. There are no plans as of now to shift to Mumbai."

He is all praise for KJo. "I met him with my producer Pooja (Shetty) and was awestruck by his perspective and deep knowledge of films. It felt great knowing he really enjoyed the film." Among the B-town actors, Ali is a huge fan of the Khan trio -- Aamir, Shah Rukh and Salman. "All three of them are brilliant."

Female brigade
Among the ladies it is Katrina, Kareena and Priyanka. He would love to woo them on screen but off-screen, he is married to his long time sweetheart Ayesha Fazli, for a little over a year. Ali has a Sufi album titled Jhoom coming up. "A while back, I did some YouTube live performances that did really well. At the moment though I am just focusing on the film, so making music has taken a backseat, " he says.
